Coosa Christian clobbers Cedar Bluff on homecoming

CEDAR BLUFF – The Coosa Christian Conquerors won their first-ever football game against Cedar Bluff in Class 1A, Region 7 action Friday night, spoiling the Tigers’ homecoming with a 41-14 decision.

Defense led the way for the Conquerors (3-4, 2-1), who are now 1-8 lifetime against the Tigers (3-5, 2-3). They had four interceptions in the game in building a 35-0 lead, including a 28-0 advantage at halftime.

John David Justus scored three rushing touchdowns and passed for another for Coosa Christian.

Cedar Bluff scored its only two touchdowns on a 67-yard pass from Kaden Pack to Hunter Jenkins, and on an 18-yard run by Kade Browning.

Jenkins led the Tigers with 141 yards of total offense. Pack passed for 143 yards.

Cedar Bluff has an open date this coming week. The Tigers return to action at Appalachian on Oct. 21. Coosa Christian hosts Appalachian on Friday.
