6lbs Meth Seized, 4 Arrests, 3 Search Warrants Executed, In 2 Counties

Rory Bentley Shankles (62 of Henagar) was charged with Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and  Brenda Annette Scott (54 of Henagar) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after DeKalb County Narcotics Agents and Henagar Police Officers went to a residence on Tinker Drive in Henagar after receiving information about drug activity.  During the search of the residence, approximately 5 lbs. of methamphetamine was discovered and seized as well as Ecstasy and drug paraphernalia. 

Anthony Glenn Hilley (59 of Pisgah) and Christy Nicole Jennings (37 of Ider) were charged with Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance when Narcotics  Agents, along with DeKalb County Deputies and Rainsville Police Department went to a motel in Rainsville after receiving information that the subject they were looking for in Jackson County had been staying there.  After a search of the room, over 5 ounces of methamphetamine, controlled pills and drug paraphernalia were confiscated.

This operation was conducted by Narcotics Agents with DeKalb County Narcotics Unit along with Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office, Henagar Police Department, Rainsville Police Department, ALEA Region F Task Force and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office as they executed 3 search warrants in two counties which led to over 6 lbs. of methamphetamine being seized.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said these arrests were made on October 5th.

He said “This is absolutely a huge win in our fight in the war against drugs that we battle every day”.
