Volleyball’s postseason is around the corner, with area tournaments being played across the state next week.

The action begins locally on Tuesday in Class 1A, Area 12 at Spring Garden. The host Lady Panthers take on the winner of the 3:30 p.m. match between Gaylesville and Jacksonville Christian at 4:30 p.m. Cedar Bluff battles Coosa Christian at 5:30 p.m., with the championship match set for 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Ohatchee is the site for the Class 3A, Area 10 tournament. Piedmont takes on Weaver at 2 p.m., with the winner battling Ohatchee at 3:30 p.m.

Then on Thursday, Sand Rock hosts the Class 2A, Area 13 tournament. The Lady Wildcats open against Gaston at 4 p.m., followed by the West End-Collinsville match at 5 p.m. The area championship match is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

Also on Thursday, Cherokee County hosts the Class 4A, Area 11 tournament. The Lady Warriors take on the winner of the 4 p.m. Ashville-Etowah match at 5:30 p.m.

Area tournament champions and runners-up advance to the North Regional Tournament in Huntsville Oct. 19-21.
