Valley Head’s Bain runs over Cedar Bluff

VALLEY HEAD – Eian Bain ran for 252 yards on 22 carries and scored all five Valley Head touchdowns to lead the sixth-ranked Tigers past Cedar Bluff 34-6 in Class 1A, Region 7 football action on Friday night.

Bain scored on runs of 13, 34, 63, 5 and 14 yards. He helped give the undefeated Tigers (6-0, 3-0) a 14-0 halftime lead with his 13-yard run with 6:31 remaining in the first quarter and his 34-yard score with 9:29 in the second.

Bain put Valley Head up 28-0 at the end of the third quarter with his touchdown runs of 63 and 5 yards before Cedar Bluff (3-4, 2-2) scored its lone touchdown of the game. Kaden Pack connected with Kade Browning on a 39-yard touchdown pass. The extra point was blocked.

Bain scored his final touchdown on a 14-yard run with 5:45 remaining in the game.

Pack led Cedar Bluff by completing 4-of-9 pass attempts for 76 yards. Bucky Leek was 3-of-4 passing for 22 yards. Browning added 44 yards on 14 carries to lead Cedar Bluff’s rushing attack. Leek had 16 yards on nine carries.

Nate Bain added 64 yards on four carries for Valley Head. Hunter Robinson had 60 yards on 14 totes.

Cedar Bluff hosts Coosa Christian on Friday. Valley Head is at Appalachian.
