ACT Prep Courses at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education

Program is offering ACT preparation courses covering four core subjects – English, reading, math and science.  Classes will meet at the Cardinal Tutoring Center located in Allen Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus. The session dates, times and course offerings are as follows:

Oct. 1: 8 a.m. to noon – English, reading, math and science

Nov. 29: 5 to 7 p.m. – English and reading

Dec. 1: 5 to 7 p.m. – Math and science

Students can register for the session(s) of their choice. Registration cost is $60 each for either Tuesday or Thursday session.  Registration is $99 for both weekday sessions and for the Saturday session which includes four hours of instruction covering the four core subjects. Once a student registers, a confirmation email will be sent containing instructions and items needed for the class. Adult Education Services Graduation Oct. 4

Gadsden, Ala.–The Gadsden State Community College Adult Education Services Department will hold a GED graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Oxford Performing Arts Center. Transfer Fair at Cherokee Arena

Gadsden, Ala. — Gadsden State Community College is hosting a Transfer Fair from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 6 at the Gadsden State Cherokee Arena in conjunction with the Cherokee County College Fair for area high school students.  All students interested in transferring to a four year college can meet with college representatives from over 20 colleges and universities and get information on admissions, scholarships, financial aid, housing and more.  For more information, contact the Advising and Retention Center at 256-549-8646 or arc@gadsdenstate.edu.

Student success workshops at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala.– Gadsden State Community College is hosting student success workshops entitled “Everything You Need To Know About Transferring” from 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 4 at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center Auditorium and Oct. 5 in Allen Hall Room 126 on the Wallace Drive Campus. Gadsden State Cherokee students may participate in the Oct. 5 workshop via Zoom in the campus library.  The workshops will provide assistance to students planning to transfer to a four-year university.  All students considering transferring are invited to attend and get information about transfer admissions, scholarships, financial aid, housing and more. Book the Gadsden State Choir for your Christmas event

Gadsden, Ala.–The Gadsden State A Cappella Choir and Singers have open dates available for holiday parties, programs or services.  This talented group of singers, under the direction of J.T. Harrell, perform at many community events and churches during its annual Christmas Tour, which kicks off in November. Fall Semester 2022 registration continues at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala.– Registration for Gadsden State Community College’s fall semester terms continues through Oct. 17.  Classes begin Oct. 14 for the fall mini 2 term.  Visit www.gadsdenstate.edu [3] and click on the link to “ONEACCS” at the top of the page to begin the registration process. Gadsden State Theatre presents “The Great Gatsby”

Gadsden, Ala. – The Gadsden State Theatre Department will present F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” at Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center in Gadsden. Show times are 7 p.m. Oct. 13-15 and 20-22.  Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors and may be purchased online by visiting www.GadsdenState.edu/FineArts [4]  or www.wallacehall.org [5]. The Gadsden State Theatre Program offers half and full scholarships for qualified students. Spring Semester 2023 priority registration begins Oct. 26 at Gadsden
State

Gadsden, Ala.–Priority online registration at Gadsden State Community College for spring semester begins at 8 a.m. Oct. 26 with classes beginning Jan. 9, 2023, for the full spring semester and spring mini 1 term.  Currently-enrolled students who have completed 24 semester hours at Gadsden State qualify for priority registration.  All other registration begins at 8 a.m. Oct. 27 and continues through Jan. 13, 2023.  Classes begin March 3 for the spring mini 2 term.  Visit www.gadsdenstate.edu [3] and click on the link to “ONEACCS” at the top of the page to begin the registration process.
