Mr. Jerry Lee Abernathy, age 80 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
A funeral service will be held 2 PM Friday, September 24th, 2022 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Odom and Bro. JD Vanpelt officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will include Alex Abernathy, Austin Abernathy, Rodney Acker, Steve “T.T.” Dutton, Stevie Goss, and Kenneth “Granny” Goss.
Honorary Pallbearers will include Brad Grimes and Tim Ransum.
Survivors include his Son, Terry (Holly) Abernathy; Daughter, Robie Lynn Watwood; Brothers, Donald Elbert Abernathy and Robert Dale (Faye) Abernathy; three Grandchildren, Austin (Katlyn) Abernathy, Alex Lee Abernathy, and Anda Lynn Drake (late); two Great Grandchildren Axton Abernathy and Koltor Abernathy; Special Friends, Steve “T.T” Dutton, Lester McDaniel, J.J. Covington, and several more of Cherokee County.
Mr. Abernathy was preceded in death by his Wife, Mary Abernathy; Granddaughter, Anda Lynn Drake; and several brothers and sisters.
Jerry was a native of Cedar Bluff and the son of the late Elbert Abernathy and Dula Crane Abernathy.
