ONEONTA – Despite a 130-yard, 3-touchdown effort from senior Keylon Higgins, Gaylesville fell to 0-4 on the football season with a 53-34 setback at Appalachian in Class 1A, Region 7 action on Friday night.
Kyler Bradley added touchdown runs of 24 and 12 yards for the Trojans.
Appalachian (3-2, 2-0) held a 14-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 22-14 at halftime before outscoring Gaylesville 31-20 in the second half for the final.
Gaylesville travels to Victory Christian next Friday. Appalachian has an open date.
