Cherokee County sweeps Etowah, Brindlee Mountain in Thursday volleyball action

CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors swept a pair of home volleyball matches on Thursday. They defeated area rival Etowah 27-25, 25-22, 25-17, then beat Brindlee Mountain 25-20, 25-12.

In the win over Etowah, Macy Lea posted 20 assists, three digs, an ace and a block. Raegan Garmany contributed six kills, a block and a dig. Vivian Connell came away with five digs and three kills. Ella Garmany collected 11 digs, 10 kills, a block and an ace.

Libby Curry delivered four aces and three digs. Emilee Paul managed eight digs and five aces. Ellisan Givens accumulated 17 digs, two kills and two aces. Nevaeh Gaidurgis added five kills, three digs and a block. Karlee Jolly finished with six digs and a pair of assists.

Against Brindlee Mountain, Lea collected 15 assists, five digs and two aces. Raegan Garmany added three digs and two kills. Ava Haygood had four aces and three digs. Connell came away with three kills. Ella Garmany posted 12 kills, seven digs, a block and an ace. Givens contributed 10 digs and an assist.

Gaidurgis managed four kills and three digs. Jolly had six digs and an assist. Curry collected a kill, a dig and an ace.
Aubrie Abernathy finished with four digs.

Cherokee County plays in the Donoho Classic on Saturday.
