There was little movement for area football teams in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.

Class 3A Piedmont (2-1) and Class 1A Spring Garden (3-1) both maintained their No. 1 and No. 8 spots respectively. Piedmont travels to Ohatchee (0-4) on Friday, while Spring Garden hosts Winterboro (1-2).

Class 4A Cherokee County (3-1), which was ranked eighth last week, dropped out of the poll but is still receiving votes following its 17-14 loss at fifth-ranked Oneonta. The Warriors look to rebound at Hanceville (2-2) on Friday.

Class 1A Cedar Bluff (3-1) also received votes this week following its 29-28 overtime win at Gaylesville. The Tigers host Decatur Heritage (2-2) on Friday.
