Centre Police Undergo “Active Shooting” Training

~from the Centre Police Department

On September 2nd (2022) – all Centre Police Officers were led in an “Active Shooter” training seminar conducted by Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga and Corporal Tom Duke at the old Centre Middle School building.   Both Mayorga and Duke are certified active shooter Instructors through FLETC/SWAT certified and Chief Mayorga is also a certified Firearms Instructor through the FBI.

This training prepares officers for worst-case scenarios involving an active shooter in our community.  Active Shooter training is never fully completed.  It’s a continuing process of learning; this training is not specific to one scenario.  This level of training prepares officers for any active shooter threat anywhere or anytime, on and off-duty.

The training of our officers will always remain a top priority to keep our community as safe as possible.
