Plainview at Piedmont football game moved to Thursday night

PIEDMONT – Piedmont football coach Steve Smith confirmed on Wednesday morning the Bulldogs’ Class 3A, Region 6 home game with Plainview has been moved from Friday night to Thursday night. Kickoff is still at 7 p.m.

The move was made in an effort to avoid storms in the forecast on Friday.

The top-ranked Bulldogs come into the contest at 1-1 following a 40-7 win over Sylvania last Friday. Plainview is 0-2 following a 41-21 loss to Geraldine.

The Bears hold a 7-3 edge in the series. Piedmont has won the last two meetings, with the last coming in the 2020 second round of the state playoffs, 46-7.
