Just before 3PM Wednesday there was a report of a broken power pole resulting in power lines down across East Main Street near East Centre Baptist Church. Centre Fire and Police units blocked the street while Cherokee Electric Coop crews worked to get the lines up. Traffic was rerouted through the Industrial Park until the road could be opened. It is reported a high profile truck snagged the power lines causing the situation. Electric Service was disrupted in the East Centre area until repairs could be made.
