Lady Warriors split volleyball matches with Ashville, Jacksonville

CENTRE – Cherokee County split a pair of volleyball matches on Tuesday night. They swept area opponent Ashville 25-17, 25-22 and 25-9, but lost in three sets to Jacksonville 25-27, 25-12 and 15-17.

In the win over Ashville, Ella Garmany collected 10 kills, eight digs, four aces, two assists and a block. Vivian Connell contributed six kills, three digs, two blocks and an assist. Nevaeh Gaidurgis added three kills, three digs, two aces and an assist.

Raegan Garmany posted three kills, a dig and an assist. Libby Curry came away with three kills, two aces. Ellisan Givens posted 13 digs, two aces. Macy Lea managed 18 assists, two digs and an ace. Karlee Jolly delivered seven digs. Emilee Paul tallied four digs. Ava Haygood had two aces and a dig, and Aubrie Abernathy accounted for two aces.

Against Jacksonville, Ella Garmany once again led the Lady Warriors with eight kills, four digs, two aces, a block and an assist. Connell collected five kills and a block. Gaidurgis gained four kills, two digs, an ace and a block. Curry contributed seven aces, three kills and three digs.

Raegan Garmany had three digs, a kill and an assist. Abernathy added five aces. Givens managed 15 digs and an ace. Lea added 18 assists, two digs and a block. Jolly posted six digs. Paul finished with a pair of digs.

Cherokee County (8-6) travels to Collinsville for a tri-match with Sardis on Sept. 8 beginning at 4:30 p.m.
