Six Injured in Friday Night Wreck involving Big Rig and Passenger Vehicle

Alabama State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident late Friday evening that left a total of six people injured/

That collision involved an 18 wheeler (a 2019 Kenworth) and a 2004 Toyota, around 6:30pm on County Road 83 in the Mt. Vernon community.

Both drivers were injured, along with four passengers in the Toyota; the driver of the 18-wheeler was listed on that Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report as a female resident of Fort Payne while the driver of the Toyota was identified as being a male resident of West Palm Beach, Florida.

No additional information regarding the condition of any of those hurt, was available at the time.

No other vehicles were involved – however, the Kenworth reportedly crashed into an occupied home following the initial collision – and it also caused other damage to the area.  It appears no one was hurt inside the structure.

That wreck remains under investigation by state troopers.
