Sand Rock reaches semifinals of Coosa Volleyball Invitational Tournament

ROME, Ga. – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats opened the 2022 volleyball season in the Coosa Invitational Tournament on Saturday. They finished the day at 3-2, losing in the semifinals of the gold bracket.

In pool play, the Lady Wildcats lost to Lafayette 14-25, 19-25. They won their next two matches over Darlington (25-20, 25-14) and Pepperell (25-14, 25-11).

In gold bracket play, Sand Rock defeated Calhoun 19-25, 25-19, 16-14. The Lady Wildcats then lost in the semifinals to Villa Rica 25-20, 14-25, 13-15.

Katelyn StClair tallied 41 kills and 28 digs for the day. Jacey Stephens contributed 21 kills, five blocks and four aces. Jadyn Foster collected 21 kills, 37 digs and four aces.

Chloe Stephens posted 61 digs and eight aces. Zoey Handy had 19 kills and four blocks. Rylin StClair added 48 assists and 28 digs, and Bethany Davis finished with 43 assists and 26 digs.

The Lady Wildcats play at Collinsville in a tri-match with Fyffe on Monday.
