Mr. Wade Richard Wellingham

  1. Wade Richard Wellingham age 84 of Leesburg, passed away Thursday, August 4th, at Gadsden Regional.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, August 6th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Nation officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11AM Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Eric Abernathy, Corey Abernathy, Kyle Abernathy, Will Barclay, Sam Barclay, Torey Chandler, Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Archer, Gary Reynolds, Ken Pritchett, Dane Barclay & Teddy Robinson.

Survivors include wife, Shirley Jean Wellingham; step son, Tony (Holly) O’Neal; step daughter, Sherry (Allen) Abernathy; sister, Dee (Jackie) Barclay; 5 grandchildren, Eric (Emily) Abernathy, Corey (Amber) Abernathy, Kyle (Olivia) Abernathy, Valerie O’Neal, Breana (Andrew) O’Neal; 6 great-grandchildren, Jace, Carlee, Kali Ryan, Ashton, Eva, Eli; and caretakers, Victoria Bonifer, Amy Baker.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jack Wellingham; brothers, Jim Wellingham and Sam Wellingham.

Mr. Wellingham was a native of Michigan, and the son of the late James & Wanda Wellingham. He served in the United States Army, as well as the Marines. He also retired as a United States Postal Worker.
