Cherokee County Deputy Tim Bailey Retires

With mixed emotions everyone at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office celebrated the retirement of Deputy Tim Bailey this week.

It always hurt to lose a valuable member of any team especially someone that’s given so much to the field of law enforcement – but everyone knows he’s earned it and they wish him the best.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver said that Deputy Bailey has served 15 years at the Sheriff’s Office – providing a vital role as an important member of security for the Courthouse; Deputy Bailey has served over 40 years in law enforcement altogether.  This week, Sheriff Shaver and Chief Deputy Josh Summerford, presented him with his official Certificate of Retirement from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.  Chief Deputy Josh Summerford stated, “…the first time I ever got into a patrol car was with Tim Bailey and that was 23 years ago.” – adding, “I learned a lot about being a deputy sheriff from Bailey.  We hope he has a blessed retirement.”

Sheriff Shaver said, “We will miss Tim dearly. I appreciate his dedication and service for the sheriff’s office – may you be proud of the work you have done, the person that you are – and the difference you’ve made.”

Happy Retirement, Deputy Tim Bailey.
