WEISS LAKE MUSIC FESTIVAL ALL SET FOR AUGUST 6th / Featuring the Legendary Oak Ridge Boys

WEISS LAKE MUSIC FESTIVAL ALL SET FOR AUGUST 6th

Dee Miller with the Weiss Lake Music Festival Committee met with the Centre City Council on Tuesday evening to alleviate any concerns the Council may have about the upcoming concert scheduled for August 6th.

Miller told the group there would be no issues with parking for the event. He said people may have to walk some but he asked the Council members, have you ever been to a concert in another town that you didn’t have a walk to the venue. He said the Committee has permission from the Alabama Highway Department to shut down Main Street from the Courthouse to Alabama Highway 9 with the street then to be used for parking. He also said businesses were considering charging a fee for parking at their locations with those monies going to a Non Profit organization.

Miller said the gate would open at 3PM or as soon as the sound check was completed after that time with the music beginning at 5. The Featured Artist, The Oak Ridge Boys are scheduled to be on stage from 8 until 9:45. He said there will be plenty of vendors for spectators to utilize during the event. No coolers will be allowed into the venue at Estes Field. He said there would be 3 ambulances onsite with 2 medical tents set up in case of any medical emergencies.

Mayor Mansfield admitted he had some concerns prior to the presentation by Miller but feels much relieved after hearing about the plans in place by the Committee and their staff of Volunteers.
