A single-vehicle crash occurring around 6:20 Sunday evening (July 10th) has claimed the life of a Cherokee County woman.  

Norma D. Richardson, 42 from Centre, was fatally injured when a 2008 Nissan Altima she was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned. 

Richardson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and she was transported to Atrium/Floyd Medical Center in Centre where she later succumbed to her injuries.  That crash occurred on County Road 22. near County Road 685 – approximately eight miles east of Centre.  No additional information is being released at this time.

State Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
