Three Injured in Thursday Afternoon Cement Truck/Passenger Car Collision Outside of Gaylesville

Three people were hurt in a serious accident taking place on Highway 68 just outside of Gaylesville early Thursday afternoon.

The collision, near County Road 107 occurred shortly after 1:00pm and involved a 2014 model concrete mixer and a passenger car, a 2007 Ford; the cement truck rolled over onto its side, coming to rest in a ditch – while the other vehicle wound up in a yard on the opposite side of the road.

The driver of the cement truck was listed on the accident report as a male resident of Guntersville while the driver of the Ford was listed as a male from Dawson, Alabama; no additional information was available regarding the passenger in the car.  No information regarding the condition of any of those involved has been released.  Emergency personnel from a number of departments responded to the scene – along with Alabama State Troopers.

That stretch of road was closed in both directions for several hours, as state troopers attempted to reconstruct the accident,  It was finally re-opened to traffic around 5:00 that afternoon.
