The Cherokee County Board of Education gathered Thursday at 8:00am for a “Special Called” Meeting at the Central Board Office in Centre.  That was in reference to taking action regarding the Spring Garden football lights, with the board members voting to declare that as an “Emergency Project” and approve letting of bids.

Both items were unanimously approved. 

The system will be replaced with new, improved state of the art lighting and will also be installed prior to any safety issues occurring, with all the latest safety procedures being observed in regard to everything from basic maintenance to all severe weather situations that may possibly occur
