Two individuals were killed in a fiery crash involving three tractor trailers Thursday in northwest Georgia. Troopers from GSP Post 3 in Cartersville were dispatched to a multi-vehicle wreck occurring on I-75 South near mile marker 293 in Bartow County.
That investigation quickly determined that an unknown color tractor-trailer – a blue tractor-trailer – and a white tractor-trailer were all traveling south on Interstate 75 – and a box truck and a blue passenger car were also traveling southbound. According to that report as traffic began to slow down the front of the unknown color tractor-trailer struck the rear of the blue tractor-trailer – causing it to strike the rear of the white tractor-trailer. A chain reaction continued as one of the big rigs traveled into the middle lane, hitting the rear of the box truck – causing it to strike the rear of the blue passenger car.
The driver of the unknown color tractor-trailer – and a passenger in the blue tractor-trailer were both pronounced dead at the scene; the driver of the blue tractor-trailer was transported to Kennestone Wellstar by EMS.
None of the driver’s identities have yet been released.
