First Ten Days of July Expected to be Hotter than Average

July in Alabama – whadaya think?

Hot, maybe?

Well you can go ahead and add another word to that. ‘cause according to the National Weather Service, on the Fourth of July – Monday – it’ll be HOT – and MUGGY

Forecasters say scattered showers and storms will be the story through the weekend and on the Fourth – thanks to a tropical disturbance that was moving inland in Texas on Friday, and that could send more tropical air over Alabama over the next few days as it slowly drifts to the northeast.

Then, an area of high pressure over the region will strengthen next week and has the potential to lift temperatures higher by a few degrees each day.

The current forecast shows increasing temperatures through next Thursday with the highs back into the mid-90s range.  That, combined with higher humidity levels – will likely bring back Heat Advisories across the area.

We can expect to experience hotter than average highs for the first ten days of July.
