The World Games are almost two weeks away from kicking off. This is an 11-day international multi-sport event organized with the support of the International Olympic Committee.
Held the year following the Summer Olympic Games, The World Games 2022 will showcase a New Generation of Global Sports in Birmingham from July 7-17, 2022.
An anticipated 3,600 elite athletes from over 100 countries will compete for the gold in more than 30 of the fastest growing sports in the world.
As an added bonus, The World Games 2022 announced that, for a limited time, it will offer “The World Games Day Pass” that allows fans to attend multiple sports competitions held during a single day for just $35.
“The World Games 2022 is an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch amazing sports and athletes in-person, and we want to be able to offer that opportunity to as many as possible. That’s the idea behind the $35 Day Pass,” said TWG 2022 CEO Nick Sellers. “Fans with a Day Pass can see as many exciting competitions in a single day as they want. And with our Ride the Line system, they can get free rides to most venues.
Day Passes are available until June 30th here.
The Closing Ceremony is set for July 17 at Protective Stadium.
The show includes the legendary group Alabama; a special duet between Blind Boys of Alabama and Jamey Johnson; Alabama’s American Idols Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard and Bo Bice on stage together for the first time; the renowned Martha Reeves performing “Dancing in the Streets,”.
Also performing at the ceremony will be a Centre, AL family and The Voice’s mother/daughter trio Worth The Wait, gospel musician & 5-time Stellar Award-winner Pastor Mike (McClure) Jr., and rising rap sensation Yung Bleu.
