Gasoline Prices Continue to Rise; Biden’s Solution – Ask Saudi Arabia to “Help” ?

The National Average price for a gallon of regular gasoline passed the $5.00 mark on last Saturday (June 11th) and continued to inch higher throughout the weekend.

As of Monday, prices were around $5.01 a gallon, according to Triple .  According to a series of reports by the New York Times a price increase per gallon of a single penny equates to a collective cost of $4 million dollars each day for American drivers.

The White House has confirmed that President Biden will visit Saudi Arabia in July – with speculation being that he will appeal to the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to increase oil production.   Biden’s visit would reneg on a campaign promise to make Mohammed bin Salman, a “pariah” for his role in the murder of an American journalist (Jamal Khashoggi).

Stacker has compiled statistics on gasoline prices in Alabama using data from AAA – Gas prices are as of June 14th with the national average currently standing at $5.01 a gallon Alabama’s average price per gallon is $4.63, and in Cherokee County, the price is currently averaging  $4.57 a gallon, with the lowest price listed at $4.54 a gallon.
