Man Accused of Attempting to Hold Up Cherokee County Business Now Facing Charges in Northwest Georgia

A Cherokee County (Alabama) man accused of attempted robbery in Alabama, is now facing charges of attempted robbery in Georgia.  Floyd County Police report that they have filed charges against 38 year old Jason Dewayne Dean, in connection with a May 6th attempted robbery at a Dollar General store in Coosa.

Dean is accused of demanding money from the cash register from the cashier who was alone at the store.  The cashier believed that Dean had a gun in his waist band, but Dean never produced the weapon; the clerk refused to hand over the money, and Dean left the store empty handed.

He reportedly attempted to rob the Country Store in Cedar Bluff the same day.

Dean was picked up in Valley Head at his place of employment earlier this month.  He is now facing attempted robbery charges in Floyd County.
