Piedmont Fire Chief, Mike Ledbetter gave the Fire Department Activity for April and May 2022 at Tuesday nights council meeting.

APRIL:

  • Structure Fires – 1 mutual aid w/ Jacksonville, involving the JCA Fire.
  • Automatic Alarm – 1
  • Vehicle Accidents – 10
  • Woods Fires – 4 involving 6 acres
  • Service Calls – 9
  • Ambulance Assist – 7
  • Hazardous Materials Calls – 1
  • Established Landing Zone – 1

Opened 1 Fire Investigation

Hosted a bus extrication class

Provided Manopwer for medical cart for bike race

Conducted an in-house training course for rope rescue

Fire Department Conducted a tour and inspection of all school buildings

Provided crews for Medic Cart for Bicycle Race

Provided trucks for Veterans Memorial Day Service

 

So far this year, the Piedmont Fire Department has responded to 242 calls.

This time last year in 2021, that number was 186.
