Is COVID Here to Stay?

Dr. Anthony Fauci says he feels COVID is here to stay.

He said on Sunday that the persistence of the virus means the annual vaccine booster shot could be in store for everyone.  The White House Chief Medical Adviser said that in recent weeks, COVID case numbers have been increasing nationwide, with average daily case numbers rising almost 26%.   Fauci noted that even though many cases are going unreported, hospitalizations are a good gauge of the outbreak.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recommended a second COVID vaccine booster shot for those ages 50 and above.

Fauci says all Americans can expect to get regular boosters in the futue – much like a like a flu shots.
