City of Centre to Begin Accepting Credit Cards at City Hall; Update on Middle School Project

Centre Police will be getting new Bullet Proof Vests.  The City Council approved the purchase during Tuesday’s Council Meeting. The Cost is $6,465. Also, the City will be taking credit cards at City Hall – Mayor Mansfield explains:

 

The mayor also informed the Council that plans for the installation of an irrigation system for the City Park are moving forward.  He explained some trees will have to be removed for the process.

The City reportedly also needs another Police Officer, and during that meeting the Council approved advertising for applications for the open slot.  The Council likewise approved purchase of a 2009 Ford F-150 Pickup truck from the DeKalb Cherokee Gas Board for the amount of $2,012.50.

An expenditure in the amount of $1,900 was also approved for painting of the shed behind the Farmers Market Pavilion.

The City has two teams going to the All-Star Games – so the Council approved $900 to purchase uniforms for the Teams.

The Next City Council Meeting is the 2nd Tuesday in June at 5:00pm.
