Centre, AL – Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation in Centre recently received a 5-star overall
quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) – the highest
score possible. The ratings were updated April 27th 2022 and are available on its care compare webpage.
“We are excited for our staff, residents and community” says Donnie Lowe,
Executive Administrator at CCHRC. “This is the result of a team effort with each department dedicated
to continual improvement of providing outstanding care to our residents.”
CCHRC is a non-profit facility designated as a Continuing Care Retirement Community, located in the
heart of Cherokee County. It offers senior living in the form of 9 independent living apartments, a 36 bed
Cherokee Village Specialty Care Assisted Living, and a 185-bed skilled nursing facility offering Physical,
Occupational and Speech Therapy in addition to traditional long-term care and memory care. The 5 star
quality rating system was created to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing
homes more easily. Ratings are taken from the following three sources of data: health inspections,
staffing and quality measures. A rating is provided for each of these three sources and an overall rating
is reached by combining the three.
