A 21 year old northwest Georgia man has been arrested, and charged with both Child Molestation and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes.

Reportedly the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office had been investigating Cody Kirk, of a Spring Creek Road address in Trion for several weeks after a child’s parent notified the sheriff’s office that Kirk had been sending her son inappropriate sexual messages via text.

The child’s mother told media outlets that last month, she went to the sheriff’s office to press charges after seeing texts, allegedly from Kirk, where he had tried to pay the juvenile for sex.  Other texts of a similar nature were also presented to authorities by the woman.

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader said Wednesday that investigators gathered enough evidence to charge Kirk with enticing a child for indecent purposes; he also added when they went to serve the warrant for his arrest Kirk admitted to molesting another child two years ago.

The sheriff said the two incidents were unrelated, but with that confession – they had enough evidence to charge Kirk with the additional child molestation charges.
