Cedar Bluff clobbers Jacksonville Christian in softball regional opener

ALBERTVILLE – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers got Class 1A East Central Softball Regional play in Albertville started with a bang Thursday. They clobbered Jacksonville Christian 15-0 in three innings.

Natalie Baty led the Lady Tigers with three hits, including a double, with three runs and three RBIs. She also earned the win in the circle after allowing just three hits and a walk with five strikeouts.

Haley Allen also added three hits, including a triple and a pair of doubles, with two runs and five RBIs. Jordyn Walker had a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs. Za’Niya Kyle contributed two hits, including a double, with a run and three RBIs.

Harlie Nelson tripled, scored a run and drove in two. Mattie Payne doubled, scored a run, and drove in one. Reece Patterson posted a hit and scored three runs. Emma Haney and Ciana Smith both had a hit and scored a run. Smith also drove in a run.

Cedar Bluff will take on Appalachian in the winners bracket this afternoon at 3:15 p.m.
