Two individuals were arrested on controlled substance charges in Cherokee County on Sunday.

Gregory Owens, 57 of Leesburg – was placed under arrest on the charges of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – he was booked into jail just after 3:00am Sunday, and was released around 1:30 that afternoon after posting bail.  Andre Smith, age 29 of Gadsden, was jailed around 3:00am Sunday facing those same charges in addition to Tampering with Evidence – and, was released around 8:00 that evening after posting bail.

Both arrests were made by the Leesburg Police Department.
