Senator Andrew Jones Announces I-759 Construction Project Developments

Wednesday morning, State Senator Andrew Jones shared some good news with WEIS Radio following his attendance at a very important gathering in Gadsden:

These projects, literally decades in the making – are at long last fully gearing up, with the finish line finally in sight:

Senator Jones stressed that the economic impact for this, and surrounding areas, will be substantial and open up unlimited possibilities for the future.

HUGE NEWS as the 759 Extension project, also known as the Eastern Connector, was announced in Etowah County today (Wednesday, May 5th, 2022).

This project has important regional significance and will have an impact not only on Gadsden and Etowah County but on the surrounding counties as well.  759 was one of three important projects I prioritized when I first ran for office in 2018.  Another of those projects, the US highway 411 widening, is currently underway.

The 759 right-of-way acquisition and movement of utilities will begin in October of this year, and construction of the roughly two miles of roadway will start around the beginning of 2024. Construction is expected to take two years to complete.

I’m very proud to have played a part in bringing this Rebuild Alabama Project to my district!
