Ground Beef Recall – List of Store Locations Affected by Recall Included in Story

There has been a major recall of ground beef nationwide, due to concerns over E.coli.

According to an announcement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety & Inspection Service, Lakeside Refrigerated Services has recalled over 120,000 pounds of ground beef used to make hamburger patties for a variety of different brands such  as Nature’s Reserve, Thomas Farms, Weis, and Marketside.

Those recalled ground beef patties were sold at Walmart, and according to the list of locations provided by the Department of Agriculture that includes the Walmart store located in Centre, in addition to Target and Weis Markets across the U.S. – along with other grocery outlets.

Walmart recently shared a list of stores that sold the recalled items.

According to the USDA the issues were discovered during routine testing of imported products, and thus far, there have been no reports of any illness or adverse reactions associated with this recall; however, the agency did note that this particular strain of E.coli can cause illness up to eight days after consumption of a contaminated product

The USDA is urging consumers who have purchased any of the recalled products not to consume them; instead, they should be thrown out immediately or returned to the place of purchase.

Since ground beef is a product people often freeze for later use, the USDA is warning consumers to check their freezers as well.

All the ground beef products subject to recall were produced from February 1st 2022 through April 8th, 2022.

Additionally, each of the recalled products bears an establishment number of “EST. 46841” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
