Emergency personnel responded to a serious collision involving a motorcycle and nn SUV at around 7:45 Monday morning near Harton’s Grocery.
Eyewitnesses reported that a motorcycle coming off County Road 44 crashed into the side of the SUV, which was traveling on Alabama Highway 68. Initial reports indicate that the motorcyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet – and sustained serious injuries – with first responders originally calling for a helicopter to airlift the victim to an area trauma center however he was instead transported to Atrium Floyd Health in Rome via ground unit.
