Warrior boys fall a point shy of Oneonta in Class 4A, Section 4 track meet

MADISON – The Cherokee County Warrior boys track and field team finished a point shy to Oneonta in the Class 4A, Section 4 meet at James Clemens High School on Friday and Saturday. The Warriors earned a total of 78 points. Oneonta finished with 79 points. Priceville came in third with 72 points. Fifteen schools competed at the meet.

The Lady Warriors finished fourth out of 14 teams with 66 points. Brooks won the girls meet with 156 points, followed by Randolph (152) and Saint John Paul II (68).

The Warrior boys were led by its 4×100 meter relay team, which took first place with a time of 42.86 seconds. The 4×400 relay team took second with a time of 3:27.42 and the 4×800 team was eighth (9:18.33).

In the individual events, Whit Johnson placed second place in the 100 meter dash (11.22). He was also fourth in the 200 meter (22.65)

CJ Gresham earned second in the 400 meter (49.38). He was also third in the 200 meter (22.52).

Alex Johnson took third in the boys 100 meter (11.39). He was also sixth in the 200 meter (22.94).

Lamycal Mitchell finished third in the 110 meter hurdles (16.48). He also came in 10th in the long jump (19-04.75).

Alex Loyd came in sixth in the javelin (145-00). Landon Caldwell claimed seventh in the high jump (5-08.00). Jay Watts was ninth in the shot put (38-01.00). He was also 21st in the discus (94.04). Cooper Martin came in 10th in the discus (106-07).

Jackson Neyman was 13th in the 800 meter (2:09.35). He was also 21st in the 400 meter  (55.52).

Trey Cowser claimed 13th in the high jump (5-02.00). He was 23rd in the triple jump (33-02.5) and 27th in the long jump (16-10.00).

John Evan Davis earned 15th in the long jump (18-06.75). He was also 24th in the 400 meter dash (56.55).

Zack Gaylor came in 17th in the shot put (35-07.00). He was also 25th in the discus (91-02).

Landon Hill was 20th in the 800 meter (2:20.57) and Daylin Kellett came in 24th (2:23.78).

In the ambulatory events, Jack Sammit claimed first place in the shot put (8-00.00), the 100-meter (23.20) and the 200 meter (46.20). Daniel Burton earned first in the shot put (12-08.00).

In the girls events, the Lady Warriors were first in the 4×100 (50.26) and the 4×400 (4:15.73). They were fifth in the 4×800 (11:20.69).

Mary Hayes Johnson placed second in both the 100-meter dash (12.96) and the 400-meter dash (1:02.05). Donice Dupree delivered a third-place outing in the 200 meter (27.32) and fourth in the 100 meter (13.42). Anna Grace Brock managed third in the 100 meter (13.33) and seventh in the 200 meter (28.54). Audrey Green finished fifth in the 200 meter (27.70) and was sixth in the long jump (14-06.5).

Ella Garmany earned 10th in the 400 meter (1:06.54) and 10th in the 300 meter hurdles (53.91). Angeline Welsh was also 10th in the 800 meter (2:46.37).

Ryleigh Pearson came in 13th in the 300 meter hurdles (56.82). She was also 17th in the 400 meter (1:11.47).

Deannia Starr took 13th in the discus (68-03). She was also 14th in the shot put (25-11.00) and 22nd in the long jump (10-05).

Isabella Segura was 17th in the 800 meter (2:56.21), followed by Reagan Tallent in 19th (2:59.94).
