Two people were injured in a collision taking place around 6:10 Monday morning on the Alabama Highway near the International Paper Plant in Rome.
According to Floyd County Police – a Kenworth truck was traveling westbound on Ga. 20 – when it turned left into the path of an oncoming eastbound Toyota pickup truck. The driver of the Kenworth, identified as 52-year-old Mark Ellis of a Calhoun address was cited for no seatbelt and failure to yield while turning left. The driver of the pickup was identified as 41-year-old Ellyn Patrick of Rome.
Both were transported to the hospital with severe, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
