Warriors’ baseball season ends in decisive third playoff game at Brooks

KILLEN – The Cherokee County Warriors’ baseball season ended Saturday with a 14-4 setback in five innings at Brooks in the third game of their Class 4A playoff series.

Brooks pitcher Seth Walton didn’t allow an earned run on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts in his five innings of work on the mound. He was also 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs.

Nick Roberson led the Lions at the plate going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs. Robby Robinson was 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs. Kyler Murks finished 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs.

Jeb Crane led the Warrior offense by going 2-for-3. Walker Pruett went 1-for-2 with a run. Malachi Horton added a hit and scored a run. Cooper Rodgers contributed a hit and a RBI. Jackson Waldrop had a hit. Haden Wheeler walked, scored a run and drove in another. Luke Young also scored a run.

Garrett McRay suffered the loss for the Warriors. He tossed four innings and gave up three earned runs on 13 hits.

Brooks advances to next weekend’s second round where it will travel to North Jackson. Cherokee County’s season ends at 15-21.
