ALBERTVILLE – Just two days after Cedar Bluff posted a four-run win over Sand Rock, the Lady Wildcats turned the tables and held on for a 7-6 victory in the Sand Mountain Pre-Area Softball Tournament in Albertville on Saturday.

Jadyn Foster led the Lady Wildcats at the plate by going 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, three runs and a RBI. She also earned the win in the circle after tossing two innings. She surrendered no earned runs on four hits with no walks and a pair of strikeouts.

EllaGrace Hood also had a pair of hits with a walk, a run and a RBI. She pitched three innings and gave up four earned runs on six hits with a walk and a pair of strikeouts.

Sherina Foster added two hits. Lacey Barnette doubled and scored a run. Aliyah King contributed a double and drove in a pair of runs. Emma Sipsy had a hit and scored two runs. Rylin StClair finished with a hit.

Natalie Baty led Cedar Bluff at the plate with three hits, including a double, with two runs and three RBIs. She also suffered the loss after working three innings after giving up four earned runs on nine hits with two walks and a strikeout.

Harlie Nelson had a pair of hits and a RBI. Haley Allen added two hits and scored a run. Mattie Payne posted a hit and scored a run. Caitlin Slayton contributed a hit and a RBI. Emma Haney had a hit and Za’Niya Kyle finished with a RBI.

The two teams also played two other games on Saturday. Cedar Bluff held on for a 6-5 win over Wicksburg and fell to Geraldine 7-5. Sand Rock dropped a 9-7 decision to White Plains and suffered a 6-2 setback to Geraldine.



In Cedar Bluff’s win over Wicksburg, Allen delivered a pair of hits, a run and two RBIs. Jordyn Walker tripled, scored a run and drove in another. Slayton doubled, walked, scored a run and had a RBI. Payne added a hit, a run and a RBI. Haney had a hit and a run. Patterson and Kyle both contributed a hit.

Patterson earned the win after working four innings. She surrendered two earned runs on eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

In Sand Rock’s 9-7 loss to White Plains, Rylin StClair had a pair of hits with a RBI. Hood doubled, walked and drove in a run. Barnette added a hit and drove in a pair of runs. King contributed a hit, a run and a RBI. Jadyn Foster walked and scored twice. Bailey Kilgore walked.

Sipsy suffered the loss after working an inning. She gave up five earned runs on six hits with no walks and a strikeout. Hood tossed three innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits with two walks.

In the Lady Wildcats’ 6-2 setback to Geraldine, Jadyn Foster, Hood and Sherina Foster each collected a pair of hits. Jadyn Foster and Hood both doubled and scored a run apiece. Hood also drove in a run. Sherina Foster also had a RBI. Rylin StClair contributed a hit and a walk.

Jadyn Foster suffered the loss after working five innings. She surrendered just one earned run on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts.
