PIEDMONT – Jack Hayes and Cassius Fairs turned in top-notch pitching performances to lead top-ranked Piedmont to a sweep of Sylvania on Friday to open the Class 3A state baseball playoffs.

In the first game, Hayes tossed a one-hitter with one walk and seven strikeouts in the Bulldogs’ 5-0 victory. Fairs then no-hit the Rams in the second game with three walks and four strikeouts in a 10-0 win to complete the sweep. ivermectin 3mg tab

In the first game, leadoff batter Austin Estes led the Bulldogs (29-4) at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a double, a run and a RBI. Jake Austin and Cassius Fairs both added a hit and scored a run.
