Alabama State Troopers Respond to Two Separate Accidents with Injuries in Cherokee County Wednesday / UPDATED

Alabama State Troopers responded to two separate auto accidents involving injuries in Cherokee County on Wednesday.

The first was a serious single-vehicle crash on County Road 45, near the intersection of 179, at approximately 4:15am.  The wreck involved a 2002 Chevrolet being driven by a male resident of Piedmont.  Due to the extent of injuries suffered, a landing zone was set up at Spring Garden school with the victim being flown out around 5:30.

The second accident occurred at approximately 6:45 that evening on Highway 273 as emergency personnel responded to a crash involving a 2016 Audi, driven by a female resident of Vestavia Hills.  She was transported for treatment – however there wasn’t any additional information available regarding her injuries.

Both wrecks remain under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
