SAND ROCK – Neely Welsh blasted a home run and a double and scored twice to lead the Spring Garden Lady Panthers to a 5-2 Class 2A, Area 12 softball win at Sand Rock on Tuesday.

Layla Ingram also added a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for Spring Garden. Abbey Steward collected two hits, a walk and a RBI. Avery Steward also had two hits. Maggie Jarrett came away with a hit, and Bri Boles walked, scored a run and drove in one.

Abbey Steward picked up the win. She went the distance, giving up two earned runs on seven hits with three walks and nine strikeouts.

Aliyah King and Rylin StClair led Sand Rock at the plate with a pair of hits apiece. King drove in a pair of runs and StClair scored a run. Jadyn Foster, Emma Sipsy and Lacey Barnette each contributed a hit. EllaGrace Hood walked three times and scored a run.

Foster suffered the loss after working 5 1/3 innings. She surrendered five earned runs on seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts. Hood worked 1 2/3 innings of two-hit ball. She allowed a walk and had three strikeouts.
