Quarterly reports were among the items of discussion for the Centre City Council on Tuesday evening. All department heads presented positive reports to council members for the last quarter.
Mayor Mark Mansfield also announced that the Historical Commission had received a grant to construct a roof on the ticket office at Estes Field and the council unanimously approved the project.
The council also approved a revised resolution with the Cherokee County Board of Education, although no details regarding the resolution were made available.
At the recommendation of Mayor Mansfield, the council will be rebidding the project for the new tennis courts for a third time. Mansfield said that this new bid would include a lighting system that is specific for outdoor tennis court areas and he wants everyone to have a fair opportunity to submit a bid.
The city also approved to accept bids for a roofing project at the Hatcher Community Center which will be paid for by a grant in addition, they also approved to construct a Farmers Market Pavilion behind the community center on an existing concrete pad.
Bids are also being accepted for an irrigation system at the city park.
