Cedar Bluff softball routs Valley Head, clinches top seed in Class 1A, Area 13 tournament

CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers scored 21 first-inning runs to cruise past Valley Head 22-0 in three innings to clinch the top seed in the upcoming Class 1A, Area 13 softball tournament on Tuesday. It was also the Lady Tigers’ senior day.

Haley Allen added a pair of hits, including a double, with two runs and two RBIs. Jordyn Walker doubled, walked twice, scored three runs and drove in two more. Mattie Payne posted a pair of hits, two walks, three runs and two RBIs. Harlie Nelson came away with a hit, three runs and a RBI. Za’Niya Kyle finished with a hit, a walk and two runs.

Walker picked up the win in the circle. She no-hit Valley Head with five strikeouts in three innings.
