Cedar Bluff baseball holds off Gaylesville 11-10

GAYLESVILLE – The Cedar Bluff Tigers scored nine runs in the first two innings, but had to hold off a late Gaylesville rally for an 11-10 area baseball win on Thursday.

Isaac Bishop led the Tiger bats by going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Hagen Stallings added a pair of hits, including a double, with two runs and two RBIs. Preston Burt contributed two hits, two runs and a RBI. Hunter Stallings walked and scored three runs. Jacob Burleson walked, scored twice and had a RBI. Kaden Pack walked and drove in a pair of runs. Eli McFry walked and scored a run. Alex Baty scored a run.

Burleson picked up the win after working 1 2/3 innings. He gave up an unearned run on a hit with no walks and four strikeouts.

Braden Sharp led the Trojans with 3-for-4 performance at the plate which included a double. He also walked, scored a run and drove in two. Kyler Bradley added a pair of hits, including a double, and scored four runs. Hunter Allmond also had two hits, including a double, with a walk and a RBI. Hayes Garmon collected a hit, a walk and two runs. Jacob Gordon blasted a home run.

Yarbrough suffered the loss for the Trojans.

The two teams finish their series this afternoon at Cedar Bluff beginning at 4 p.m.
