A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for much of Alabama by the National Weather Service office in Birmingham.
Outlook through Wednesday night
Areas of fog, with visibilities less than one mile at times – will persist through 9:00am Wednesday
Strong to severe storms are possible both this afternoon and evening, with damaging winds and large hail being the main threats, though a tornado or two cannot be ruled out – as a cold front sweeps into, and across the area, mainly between 12:00 noon and midnight.
As with these types of severe weather systems we could see downed trees and power outages as a result.
Motorists should also watch out for any downed trees and/or limbs across roadways, in addition to minor flooding.
Thursday through next Tuesday.
Freezing conditions will be possible across the northern portions of Central Alabama both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Precautions should be taken to protect vulnerable populations and sensitive plants and vegetation.
