Spring Garden softball plays in Alex Wilcox Memorial Tournament over the weekend

MONTGOMERY – The Spring Garden Lady Panthers played in the FCA Alex Wilcox Memorial Softball Tournament at Lagoon Park in Montgomery over the weekend. Their lone win came in a 5-4 decision against Alabama Christian. Losses were to Brewbaker Tech (16-0), Brantley (8-2) and Charles Henderson (2-0).

In the win over Alabama Christian, Maggie Jarrett went 2-for-3 with a triple and a RBI. Avery Steward doubled, scored a run and had two RBIs. Kayley Kirk also doubled and had a RBI. Abbey Steward, Helena Ingram and Bri Boles each contributed a hit. Ingram scored a run. Boles scored a run and had a RBI.

Avery Steward earned the win in the circle.

Against Brewbaker Tech, Abbie Woods had the lone hit for Spring Garden.

Against Brantley, Jarrett went 2-for-2 with a RBI. Neely Welsh homered. Avery Steward and Boles both added a hit apiece.

Against Charles Henderson, Welsh was 2-for-2 with a walk. Abbey Steward, Helena and Layla Ingram each went 1-for-2. Avery Steward drew a walk.

Spring Garden is hosting the Spring Swing Tournament at Jacksonville State University today and tomorrow.
