ICE ending immigration detention at Etowah County jail in Gadsden

Federal immigration authorities on Friday announced that they will discontinue the use of the Etowah County Detention Center in Gadsden, Alabama for housing detainees and will limit the use of three other detention centers.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the decisions reinforce a commitment by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to review detention facilities to determine whether they are humane, meet applicable standards and are responsible use of funding. اربح
