Hood drives in six runs to lead Sand Rock softball in rout of Gadsden City

SAND ROCK – EllaGrace Hood homered, doubled, scored twice and drove in six total runs to lead the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a 16-1 softball win over visiting Gadsden City in four innings on Monday.

Jadyn Foster collected three hits, including a triple and a double. She scored three runs and had four RBIs. Katelyn StClair contributed a pair of hits, including a triple, with a walk, three runs and a RBI. Sherina Foster doubled, walked and scored twice. Lacey Barnette and Emma Sipsy both doubled. Barnette drove in a run and Sipsy scored a run.

Bailey Kilgore had a hit, a run and a RBI. Rylin StClair and Brylie Knight both added a hit and a run. Lily Clanton finished with a hit. Zoey Handy walked and scored twice.

Hood earned the win after working just two innings. She surrendered a hit and a walk with five strikeouts. Sipsy worked the other innings. She gave up an unearned run and had three strikeouts.

Sand Rock is scheduled to travel to Gaston on Tuesday. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
